FDA Actos Bladder Cancer Warnings Prompt Law Firms to Switch Over to the Internet for Business

The rash of drug recalls in the past few years have prompted an interesting secotr of online business: the internet based law firm. The internet has widened our scope so dramatically when it comes to where we look for help. Instead of finding a local lawyer to represent them, patients harmed by consumer drugs find nationally recognized pharmaceuticals lawyer quickly on the internet.   Many of the  drugs that have been recalled were from major pharmaceutical companies, and even the top-selling drugs  in their class have been subject to recall.   Consider drugs like Vioxx, Avandia and now Actos.   Actos, recently the top-selling Type 2 diabetes  drug, just as Avandia once was, has come under fire for increasing the risk of  bladder cancer in its users.   There have  been two FDA Actos bladder cancer warning notices within the past year and a half.  Wellbutrin is an antidepressant that the UK agency only allowed as a single  30-day prescription for quitting smoking.     Now there have been thousands of Wellbutrin birth defects lawsuits here in the United States;  this was after the drug was linked to increased risk of suicidal  tendencies.   In August of 2010 there was  a recall of an artificial hip that not only failed and required replacement,  but also exposed its users to potentially toxic metals in the blood.   Each of these major recalls has prompted more law firms to switch over to using the internet as a business strategy. In fact, it is hard to do an internet search about a drug recall without coming up with a web page for online lawyers.
